Personal garden care across Jersey

Your garden, understood and cared for

Personal garden care across Jersey, for gardens that deserve a bit of thought — not just a quick tidy up.

  • No synthetic weedkillers
  • Small and medium gardens
  • The same gardener, every visit

A garden should still feel like yours

  • I ask before I cut

We walk round together first. Nothing you care about disappears because I assumed it was a weed.

  • The same gardener, every visit

You deal with me directly. I get to know your garden over the seasons, so it gets better rather than just tidier.

  • Small and medium gardens

Not a low-priority job squeezed between big landscaping contracts. This is the work I choose to do.

  • Fewer chemicals, better soil

I'd rather fix why something keeps coming back than keep spraying it. Usually that means feeding the soil.

What I do

Looking after the whole garden

Whatever your garden needs — a regular pair of hands, one big push to get it back under control, or help growing something to eat.

Grass and lawn care

A lawn that looks cared for all year, not just the week after it's cut.

Moss and weeds usually mean compaction, shade or hungry soil. I'd rather deal with the cause than keep treating the symptom.

Hedge trimming

Crisp lines, cut at the right time of year for the plant and the wildlife.

I check hedges for nesting birds before cutting between March and August, and I'll postpone a cut if I find one.

Borders and beds

Planting that gets better each year instead of needing replacing.

Mulch does most of the weed control. Bare soil is what makes weeding a job that never ends.

Fruit and vegetable growing

Help growing something you can actually eat, at whatever scale suits you.

No synthetic pesticides on anything you're going to eat. Netting, timing and encouraging the right insects do the job.

See everything I do

Beautiful gardens, naturally

Healthy soil, thoughtful planting and fewer unnecessary chemicals. That isn't about letting a garden go wild — a pristine lawn and a hedge full of nesting birds can happily share the same plot.

How I actually work

This month

What I'm doing in Jersey gardens this summer

Keeping on top of growth rather than fighting it, deadheading to keep things flowering, and watering deeply but less often so roots go down instead of sideways.

If it grows, I want to know

Why I don't reach for the weedkiller

Spraying a weed kills the weed. It doesn't answer the more useful question, which is why that patch of ground keeps growing them in the first place.
